Background - About us
We have been Francophiles ever since we started touring France over 20 years ago, during which time we have made frequent visits here, often in a classic car enjoying the quiet country roads at a more leisurely pace. As a result of this, we have also developed a great love of the country and many strong friendships across France.
After working hard for many years in England (Bill in construction and Letsie in the NHS), we finally decided to take the plunge and do what we had talked about doing for years. In 2010, we began our search for a special place, to start a new chapter in our lives so that we could follow a healthier and more harmonious lifestyle.
Our search for somewhere special repeatedly brought us back to this area and to this historic village in particular. After many months of searching, we were eventually fortunate in finding our new home which is called Le Clos de la Rose. Here we continue to appreciate all the things that drew us to France in the first place: the wonderful food and wine, the beautiful countryside, the warmth of the people and the milder climate. We hope you will come here to enjoy them, too.
We both enjoy reading and music and share our home with our two cats, who like us, enjoy the slower pace of life and tranquility. We love spending time pottering in the gardens, going for walks around the village or going for a drive a bit further afield in a classic car. We live permanently on site and enjoy meeting new people. We offer you respite from your busy lives in a pleasant environment, overlooking vineyards as far as the eye can see. If you have any special requirements during your stay, please let us know and we will do our best to meet them. If you want advice on interesting places to visit or exciting things to do, we will be happy to give you lots of ideas; but if you prefer to be independent we will respect your privacy.
On your first evening, we will invite you to join us for a welcome drink, when we will be happy to answer any questions you may have and discuss what you might want to see and do during your stay.
